SUGGESTED TATTOO AFTERCARE

When you’re tattooed at Timeless Tattoo, you have been tattooed in a modern studio by highly trained professionals who adhere to the strictest of sterilization procedures. The life of your tattoo is dependent upon the care it receives within the first few days.... It takes about two weeks to heal; and two weeks more to settle in.

Your Timeless Tattoo Artist may use a variety of bandage types depending on the size, shape, and location of your tattoo.

For Traditional Bandage Types

Remove the bandage after 2 hours. Do not keep the bandage on for more than 10 hours. NEVER re-bandage your tattoo.

For Saniderm Bandage Types
We suggest leaving the bandage on for three days; however, if the bandage adhesive begins to rise or loosen before three days, remove the bandage. It is normal for fluid/plasma to build up beneath the clear bandage which may give your new tattoo a “fuzzy” appearance. This is normal and part of the healing process. If leakage does occur, gently press the bandage and clean fluid with a clean paper towel. Remove the bandage in the shower under warm running water. This helps loosen the adhesive and allows you to peel the bandage slowly to avoid damaging the skin beneath. If the saniderm does not remove easily, you can leave the bandage on for an additional day.

Suggested Care

Once the bandage is removed, wash your tattoo gently with cool, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly, lightly pat dry with a clean towel. With clean hands, apply a thin layer of a white, unscented lotion and work it gently in until there is no remaining lotion residue on the skin. Use lotion as necessary to keep the tattoo moisturized through the remainder of the healing process. Do not over lubricate the tattoo, but don’t allow it to get too dry.

Do Not use alcohol or peroxide on your new tattoo.

Do Not pick or scratch at your tattoo.

Do Not go swimming or soak/submerge in water for two weeks.

Keep your tattoo out of direct sunlight during healing.

Once your tattoo is healed, regular application of sunscreen if your tattoo is exposed to the sun or a tanning bed will help to prolong the life of your tattoo.

If a rash occurs (bumps on or around the tattoo as with an allergic reaction) or if redness persists, discontinue use of all topical products and call us for suggestions on product alternatives.
